I’m very happy about how this one turned out. I was stuck, trying to think of a song for episode 7 and Ren (my wife, submissive, and soul mate) served me in two wonderful ways. First, she suggested that I find a beat, a good groove to start with and then play around with chords and melody. That’s something she and I have in common, in terms of our songwriting process. We both enjoy just ad libbing to beats. And second, she wrote lyrics for me! How awesome is that? It’s one of the reasons I love her so much and she serves me so well.

Here are her lyrics:

And then she opens like a storm cloud and all the heaviness she holds

Rains down her gentle face and splashes on the floor

And then she turns her eyes upon me lashes wet from all the tears

And asks me to just take her lift her from her lake of fears

Open to me, little one the sun is on your skin

My mind is set on keeping you though my love comes with a sting

Open to me, little one the night can be so long

Allow yourself to lean on me and know that I am strong

And then she opens like the lotus and all the softness she contains

Flows from her like a nectar until no hesitance remains

And then she turns her doubt to fire underneath my itching hand

I’m the guide to her desires very soon she’ll understand

Open to me , little one this story must begin

My mind has been caressing you it’s safe to let me in

Open to me little one the search can be so long

Allow yourself to let it go and know that I am strong

My experience writing this song as well as the previous online collaboration I did with PREFECTDT and his protest song – “Lawrence’s Grave” is giving me the message that I do better in collaboration with a lyricist, I think. I don’t think I’m a bad lyricist, but it is much more of  a challenge for me than coming up with the music and melody.

Let me know what you think.

  1. I like this song….exotic and up beat…the harmony in the middle is nice. I am looking forward to the collection :-)
